Our Mountain Jasper is from South Africa. The majority of the pieces are dotted, much like a Mexican Leopardskin, and colors are dark rose to maroon to a dark grey/purple, mostly. As you see in the photo there are some pieces with white and veins rather than dots. It's a nice stone and sizes are standard, 20-40 grams and 1 to 1 1/2 inches.

This unakite is beautiful. It is heavy and solid and tumbles up beautifully. It is from South Africa and I don't see any difference between this and the unakite from Australia. Pieces range from about an inch to 1 1/2 inches and weigh 25 to 40 grams each.

The very best tumbles (and fastest) have a mixture of small, medium, and large stones. This mix of Mexican stones is the mix you want to use for the small stones. Fuchsite from Brazil (Green Muscovite) is a lovely stone - it is wet in the photo but left dry and natural it is quite sparkly. It's very soft so if you're tumbling, take a lot of care and do some research on tumbling soft stones. Pieces range from about 15 to 25 grams and sizes are 1/2 to 1 1/4" average and pieces are all mostly thin.
