CATHEDRAL QUARTZ from Ambalofinandrahana, Madagascar
|
Cathedral Quartz is the name given to a variety of colorless or white quartz. It is so named because it's growing habit is one in which lesser points appear along the body of the main crystal, running parallel to the axis of the body and partially embedded in the main crystal body. Seeing them, one is reminded of the turrets of an ancient castle or cathedral, jutting slightly out from the main walls.
These crystals are among the richest of the information-bearing stones in the mineral kingdom. They have been programmed by spirit entities to make it possible for human beings to access the necessary knowledge for raising their vibrational frequencies and evolving into the next level of existence.
Among other things, these stones act as repositories of knowledge of the energetic structures of the higher dimensions. Through working with them, one can develop the clairvoyant vision necessary to create an internal map of the astral, subtle, casual, devic, angelic, and other realms. This makes them highly valuable to those wishing to explore these worlds.
The above information has come directly from The Book of Stones. For more information on these wonderful crystals, I have, among many other crystal books, Mr. Simmon's THE BOOK OF STONES available for purchase in our All About Crystals book section

Quartz, referred to as the "ice of the gods" by many ancients, has always been recognized as having extraordinary physical and metaphysical properties. It naturally harmonizes and energizes our gross and suble bodies.
Chakras can be activated, cleansed, balanced, and energized, and all psychic abilities can be initiated and strengthened.
All quartz crystals have six primary properties: structure, store, amplify, focus, transmit, and transform energy, which includes matter, thought, emotion, and information. Metaphysical quartz formations possess additional properties, based on their geometry and other specific features.

HEMATOID CATHEDRAL
QUARTZ from Ambalofinandrahana, Madagascar
|
This beautiful cathedral quartz has a frosting of hematite. In addition to cathedral quartz properties, the grounding properties of the hematite stabilize the high energy of the quartz. This new quartz, called Hematoid Cathedral Quartz (proper name Ferruginous Cathedral Quartz), closes the energetic loop between the Root and Crown chakras.

4.1 grams 3 x 1 7/8 x 1 3/4" Top point is chipped a little so it's not a sharp point but all faces are smooth and undamaged. there are lots of lesser crystals all around the sides, some of them quite large, as you see in the photos. The many faces make them quite sparkly. The whole piece is covered with a thin layer of hematite frost, making it pale purple/pink/brown. Two sides of the lesser crystals had some white potassium feldspar between the crystals.

3.0 ounces 2 7/8 x 1 3/8 x 1 1/4" Nice, dark, hematite frost on four of the faces (lighter frost on the other faces) and down a couple of the sides. Very pretty. Nice sharp point on top. One of the ridges between the faces has a small chip close to the top. I can only see it when using my loupe. Very sparkly lesser points on five of the six sides, the sixth side is where it was attached to other crystals.
