Rosasite is a secondary mineral occurring in the oxidation zone of zinc copper deposits. It's name is derived from the first discovery in the Rosa mine in Italy. Colors range in greens and blues.
Our beautiful specimens are on Limonite matrix and are from the fabulous Mina de la Ojuela, near Mapimi, Durango, Mexico.
You MUST use a jeweler's loupe to see everything and appreciate the beauty of these pieces.

Teal Rosasite balls on a bed of dark green mottramite. Right in front is a large calcite crystal, measuring 1/4" x 1/8". On the side in the layers of limonite matrix you can see a few hemimorphite crystals.

Beautiful Teal Rosasite balls on Calcite drusy, all on Limonite matrix. In front on the highest side is a light coating of Chalcopyrite. The light blue green inside the cavity is furry appearing, so I believe it is Aurachalcite. There are more cobwebby crystals on the side in the vein but I don't know what they are, as they are very light colored.
