Nephrite Jade is a stone of the heart. As such, it is related to the heart chakra and has a beneficial effect on all heart chakra related issues and all love relationships. It is considered to be good for emotional balance and stability. Jade of all kinds is a very protective stone and is particularly good protection for children against illness and for psychic protection. It has energetic clearing properties and is useful when stored with other stones.
Blue Nephrite, quite rare, brings peace to one's mind and heart. Blue Jade can open all chakras.
Black Nephrite, also rare, carries all nephrite qualitites but is also grounding. It helps one keep one's head and protects against false friends.
In meditation, jade works best with blue on the brow, green at the heart, and black at the feet.

Our Blue Nephrite Jade was first discovered by Magnus Vonsen in 1949 on the Vonsen Ranch in Marin County, north of Petaluma, California. Vonsen was a well known amateur minerologist and rockhound. The mine was closed in 1950 and did not reopen until 2011. For this reason, it is known to be Rare. It is known as Vonsen Blue Jade.
This jade's colors range from a lovely grey blue to greenish blue to dark blue and can be described as "steely." Some pieces have a natural chatoyancy and some pieces have an unusual [for jade] botryoidal structure. Tumbled pieces generally only show where the botryoidal pieces fell out, leaving a concave depression.
