Cobalto Calcite, also known as Sphaerocobaltite, is a rare mineral. A polymorph of calcium carbonate, it derives its beautiful colors from minute impurities of cobalt. Our stones are from Democratic Republic of Congo and are rare because of the continual wars in that country; it is difficult to mine the stones and get them out of the country. there are a multitude of crystal shapes but are always trigonal or pseudo hexagonal. Mohs Hardness is 3-4.
Cobaltocalcite is a Pink Ray of Love stone. It opens the Heart Chakra and helps one feel self-worth and gives self-confidence. Healers use this stone to relieve physical tensions and stress.
