Darwin Glass is from Mt. Darwin in western Tasmania, Australia. It is a very rare and little known transclucent green tektite type, similar to Moldavite. Darwin Glass is most often a dark green black, but the structure is so much like Moldavite I at first thought that was what I was looking at. The specimens are found around the remains of a one kilo diameter crater southeast of Mt. Darwin from an impact that took place about 770,000 years ago. This type of tektite is also called meteor splash glass. What is really cool about these - what I have read and have been told - because of their proximity to the impact of the meteor means they have tiny bits of the meteor within the fused mineral material.
Metaphysical Properties:
Because of its nature of creation, Darwin Glass is believed to be a positive fusion of universal and earthly energies. Green tektite types are believed to be able to greatly enhance the effects of other crystals. These stones have extremely high vibrations and can open and clear blockages from the chakras as well as align them and they resonate with the crown chakra while opening it to receive the highest spiritual guidance.
People who have an aversion to the green color of these powerful stones will usually have problems with their emotions. There could be issues with emotional blockage or emotional traumas that need to surface and heal, for which other crystals are needed. Darwin Glass is more of a healing catalyst and boosting crystal, than an active healer. They will make one aware of the cause and source of a condition and then support the healing process, working with other stones.
